Behind the Build: How Our 6 Week Sprint Powers Smarter Space Management
At Get My Parking, innovation does not happen once in a while. It happens on a consistent schedule that operators, teams and partners can rely on. Our 6-week sprint cycle keeps us focused, aligned, and constantly improving the tools operators rely on every day. Instead of waiting months for meaningful upgrades, you get a steady stream of updates that actually make your locations easier to run.
How the 6-week sprint works
Every six weeks, we take in the latest feedback, lock in priorities, build, test, and ship. It is a clean, repeatable rhythm that keeps the product moving in the right direction. Nothing drags on forever and nothing gets forgotten. If it matters on the ground, it makes its way into a sprint.
The updates below are some of the key features we shipped in our most recent sprint. They are all about giving operators stronger control, cleaner workflows, and smarter ways to manage space.
Nested Zones in ExpressLane
One of the biggest upgrades this cycle is the ability to set up nested zones inside a single ExpressLane location. This gives operators a way to break a facility into smaller sections that each behave differently.
Here is what that looks like in practice:
Access Nesting Only approved license plates can enter certain zones. This is perfect for staff areas, VIP sections, or anything that needs controlled access.
Revenue Nesting Different zones can have different pricing. Parkers can enter the site the same way they always do, but what they pay depends on where they choose to park. This helps operators add premium areas or event pricing without complicating the driver experience.
The entire flow stays simple for the parker. They do not have to learn anything new or tap extra buttons. All the logic lives behind the scenes, and the operator gets much more flexibility without adding friction.
We are already seeing locations use this to separate retail, tenant, office, event and staff parking inside one structure. It cleans up the layout, adds consistency and gives operators more control over how space is used.
Smarter Permits and Reservations
The sprint also introduced better control around regular permits.
Reserved and Unreserved Regular Permits Operators can now create two types of regular permits.
- Unreserved Regular: Standard permit without a space assignment.
- Reserved Regular: Requires approval and includes a dedicated space.
Retail users can request a reserved permit through the app. Operators can review and assign the space in the admin dashboard. This makes space assignment much clearer, especially in high demand sites where accuracy matters.
It is a small change with a big impact because it reduces guesswork, prevents overlap, and helps operators stay in control of capacity.
Why this matters
- You get faster improvements you can actually use
- Tools that match the complexity of real parking sites
- More control without adding more steps for the parker
- Flexible layouts that fit mixed use and evolving demand
- A predictable 6 week cycle you can plan around
This is the direction we are moving in. Smarter, cleaner tools that give operators confidence and control.
