Aman Shares the Untold Story About ExpressLane
“The moment you start serving 100% of parkers instead of 5%, you begin seeing the industry differently.” – Aman Singh
For many people, ExpressLane is known as a faster, smarter way to enter and exit a parking facility. But behind that experience are years of product development, customer feedback, and a goal to make parking effortless for everyone.
We found a conversation with Aman Singh, VP of Product Management at Get My Parking. This reflects on the journey behind ExpressLane, the thinking that shaped it, and why building great parking technology means solving problems that most people never even notice.

The Switch From Solving Problems to Transforming Parking Operations
ExpressLane wasn’t built as a standalone product. It was built as the point where everything comes together. Over the years, Get My Parking introduced solutions for permits, reservations, payments, validations, and operator tools. Each solved an important problem, but they were always part of a much bigger picture.
As Aman explains, “Think of it as a summit on top of a mountain. ExpressLane is that peak where all the parts are now leading to.” This was the idea behind ExpressLane. It’s about bringing every touchpoint in a parking operation into one connected experience, so operators manage less complexity and drivers enjoy a smoother journey.
Designing for Every Parker
One of the biggest shifts in building ExpressLane was expanding the definition of who the product serves. Instead of designing for the majority of straightforward parking sessions, the team began asking different questions.
- What happens when someone’s phone battery dies?
- What if they don’t have a smartphone?
- What if they’re managing kids in the back seat and need the fastest way out?
These everyday situations became design challenges rather than edge cases. The result has been a platform that continuously introduces new ways for customers to pay, validate, and access parking without adding friction to their journey.
Automation That Feels Invisible
When automation works well, parkers rarely notice it.
Be it reading a license plate, processing a payment, or validating a session, every interaction should happen seamlessly in the background. If something goes wrong, the technology should fix it before the customer even notices.
As ExpressLane continues to handle more transactions, AI and automation are helping resolve issues faster, creating a smoother experience for drivers and a more efficient operation for parking teams.
Building Products That Grow Together
One of the recurring themes throughout the conversation is how product development has evolved. Instead of creating isolated features, every new capability now strengthens the broader platform.
- A support tool improves operations.
- Operational insights improve automation.
- Automation improves the customer experience.
Each improvement becomes the foundation for the next, creating a platform that continues to learn and evolve rather than a collection of disconnected products.
Taking The Learning Ahead
Parking technology is changing quickly. Automation, AI, and license plate recognition are no longer emerging concepts. They’re becoming the expectation for modern parking operations.
For Aman, that’s an exciting opportunity.
The industry is no longer asking whether these technologies work. Operators are looking for solutions that simplify operations, improve customer experiences, and bring every part of the parking journey together.
That’s the vision that continues to shape ExpressLane, and the journey is only getting started. Talk to our team to learn how ExpressLane fits into your existing parking operation and delivers a seamless experience for both operators and parkers.
