We recently caught up with Nicole Yzaguirre, a Manager at Cornerstone Parking Group, to learn more about how went ticketless with QR codes.

An Interview with Nicole Yzaguirre

Hey Nicole! Thanks for chatting with us. How long has it been since Cornerstone Parking Group started using Get My Parking?

I believe we are going on a year now using Get My Parking.

Amazing! What solutions are you currently using? 

Right now, we use QR codes at locations like Marietta Square. We also use them at our event locations. Pretty much everywhere in the south right now is Get My Parking!

What was life like before Get My Parking?

Hectic. The system we used before was unorganized and just met our basic needs. We’re a fast growing company and things change at the drop of a dime. And the system we used before Get My Parking just wasn’t able to do that, which is why we switched to Get My Parking. 

How was the transition for you and your parkers?

It’s been amazing! It was an easy transition, going from our old system to Get My Parking. I mean, you guys have a great team over there. Everybody has been very helpful, and the training sessions that I’ve received from the staff have just been amazing. 

We appreciate that! Is it now a faster experience for parkers? 

Absolutely. I mean, it’s very easy to use. You pull into your parking spot, you scan a QR code, you enter your phone number and your license plate number, and then it just kind of walks you through the rest. It’s very easy, everything’s on the screen. Anybody can work it – even my grandma! 

That’s awesome. It’s nice to hear that your grandma parks with Cornerstone too!  Are the validations easy to use? 

Yes. Very easy to use, since it’s also a nice Scan-and-Go thing. For instance, people go to a restaurant and after they leave the restaurant, they scan the QR code. They can either do it through the Cornerstone app, or pull up their session by clicking the link that they receive on text. After you scan the QR code, your parking’s validated, and then you’re just on your way! 

That’s awesome. What about signs? Has that been helpful for you guys? 

We have plenty of signs across our locations thanks to Get My Parking, and they’re all clear and easy to follow. 

Do you see QR codes staying as the go-to tech for parking?

I think at the time and age right now, I think QR codes are the big move. I think it’s very easy to use, instead of having to go to a ticket station. Everything is ticketless, everybody has cell phones. Everything that you need is right there in your hands, which I appreciate.

What’s next for Cornerstone?

We’re doing good, we’re growing. We’ve opened up a location in Oklahoma City. We have some more locations coming in the south hopefully soon. And of course, we’re going to use Get My Parking, and it’s going to be exciting. And I’m excited to keep growing with the GMP team and see what else we can come up with.
